Roofing
Storm damage and insurance claims
We assess the damage, document it, and work with your claim. We will not waive your deductible. That is insurance fraud in South Carolina, and we will not put your claim at risk.

A hail or wind event is when a lot of roofers appear. The rule here does not change. We come to the house, we look, and what we are willing to say is written down. If the damage is one isolated leak on a younger roof, we will usually call it a repair. If it is spread across the roof, the conversation turns to replacement and to your insurance claim.
How a claim goes, in plain language
You are the policyholder. You call your insurer and open the claim. We assess and document what the storm did to the roof so the claim has something real to stand on, and we work with that claim. We do not take over your policy, and we do not publish a script for talking to an adjuster. The part that is not negotiable: your deductible is yours to pay. Anyone who offers to “waive,” “cover,” or “absorb” it is describing something we will not do, because it is fraud in South Carolina.
We also do not promise that a carrier will approve a full replacement, and we do not quote a claim value from the curb. Approval is the insurer’s decision. Our job is an honest look and paperwork that matches the roof.
Permits still apply if the claim becomes a full replacement in Lexington or Richland County: we pull them. The work, if you hire us, is the same crew that does roofs that are not claims. Metal or architectural shingles, named on the written estimate. Emergency drying-in, if water is coming in now, starts with a call to (803) 265-5645.
Questions
- Will Ole South waive my deductible?
- No. We will never waive your deductible, because that is insurance fraud in South Carolina.
- What do you actually do on a storm claim?
- We assess the damage, document it, and work with your claim. You remain the policyholder. We do not promise that your insurer will buy a full replacement.
- Should I sign with the first roofer in the driveway?
- Not before someone has been on the roof and you have a written scope. A deductible waiver is a reason to say no. Our short checklist is on the how-to-choose page.
- Do you pull a permit if insurance pays for a new roof?
- On full replacements in Lexington and Richland counties, we pull the permits, claim or not.
- Who do I call if it is leaking tonight?
- Call (803) 265-5645. Emergency roofing after hours uses that number. The written estimate still follows a look at the house.
- Do you publish claim settlements or savings?
- No. We do not publish other people’s claim amounts, and we do not advertise a typical insurance payout.
Monday–Saturday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM. We answer within one business day. Emergency roofing after hours uses the same number.
