Columbia, SC
Roofing contractor in Columbia, SC
Columbia is the capital-city half of the work, in Richland County on the east bank of the Congaree. Ole South is based in Pelion. The phone on this page is not a Columbia call center, and no Columbia street address is published here.

Neighborhoods, not a downtown desk
“Columbia” is too broad for a roof. These are the parts of the city this page means. None of them is a branch.
- The Vista, the riverfront, and Main Street. West Columbia and Cayce sit across the Congaree and have their own pages. The bridge is geography. It does not add a shop.
- Five Points, Shandon, and Rosewood. Older houses, mature trees, roofs that spend the afternoon in shade. Leaves and needles sit in the gutters. A wet fascia often shows up before the street face of the shingles looks done.
- Eau Claire, and the mill streets around Olympia. Closer to the river. What we look for is wind-driven rain at the head of a window and around a chimney, plus humidity that never quite leaves a shaded wall.
- Northeast Columbia. Decker Boulevard and Two Notch Road, where more roofs are newer and the lots are more open. Wind and hail still get checked on the roof in front of us. The corridor is not the diagnosis.
Irmo and Blythewood are named towns with their own pages. If your address is just outside Columbia and not on the published list, say so when you call. We will tell you straight whether the drive is one we make.
Shade, storms, and roofs that lie from the curb
The city gets the Midlands pattern: heat held in the shingles, storms in the afternoon, hail that ignores a county line. In the older neighborhoods the extra variable is cover. Shade holds moisture. Debris hides the metal edge. Decking can be soft while the roof still looks orderly from the sidewalk. A Columbia number taken from a satellite photo is not how this company prices.
When shingles are the material under discussion, the practical Midlands option is a 130-mph wind rating. Architectural asphalt on that spec typically lasts 25–30 years. Metal — a standing-seam panel or a metal shingle — typically lasts 40–60. Bring up a manufacturer certification at the visit if your records need it. This page does not print a warranty term.
A single leak on a younger roof is often a repair, paid directly. Damage spread by a storm is the claim conversation: you open the claim, we document the roof, and the deductible remains yours.
What happens after you call
The number is (803) 265-5645, answered from Pelion. We respond within one business day. The office line runs Monday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A leak that cannot wait uses that number after hours too. We book the house, walk it, and send the free written estimate with the scope, the materials, and the price on it.
Full replacements in Richland County are permitted jobs, and we pull that permit. After the work is underway, a straightforward replacement is usually one or two days, three if the roof is complicated. Kitchens, if you want the same company inside, typically take four to eight weeks. Baths typically take two to four. Flooring we install includes hardwood, LVP, and tile. Fiber cement is the siding recommendation when the walls are actually part of the scope.
Brian Jolly owns Ole South. George Boulware is lead contractor and has spent over fifty years building and remodeling homes in South Carolina. The paired city page is Lexington.
Ole South Roofing & Construction is a Pelion, South Carolina roofing and construction company. We are not affiliated with Ole South Properties, the home builder in Tennessee. The other towns on the list are on the service-area page.
Questions
- Are you based in Columbia?
- No. Ole South is based in Pelion, SC 29123. Columbia is a primary market we drive to. There is no Columbia street address and no call center on this site. The phone is (803) 265-5645.
- Which Columbia neighborhoods does this page describe?
- The Vista and the riverfront, Main Street, Five Points, Shandon, Rosewood, Eau Claire, the mill streets around Olympia, and northeast Columbia along Decker Boulevard and Two Notch Road.
- Do you pull Richland County permits?
- On a full roof replacement, yes. Columbia is Richland County, and we pull that permit.
- What does a Columbia roof cost?
- Every roof is different, and a curb or a photo is not enough. The free written estimate after we are on the roof lists the scope, the materials, and the price.
- How is a hail claim handled in Columbia?
- You stay the policyholder and open the claim. We assess and document the roof and work with that claim. We will not waive the deductible. That is insurance fraud in South Carolina.
- Do you remodel kitchens in the city?
- Yes. A kitchen typically runs 4–8 weeks and a bath 2–4. The weeks on your job are the weeks on the written estimate. Same company as the roof, based in Pelion.
Monday–Saturday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM. We answer within one business day. Emergency roofing after hours uses the same number.
