Metal

Metal roofing, standing seam or metal shingles

We install metal roofs. Standing seam or metal shingles. The lifespan we quote as typical is 40–60 years, against 25–30 for architectural shingles. The price is still a written estimate after we see the house.

Metal is not a different company. It is one of the two roofs we put on houses, next to architectural shingles. The photograph on this page is a standing-seam roof on a Midlands ranch, shot by us. A corrugated metal wall on another job is siding, not a roof, and we don’t pretend otherwise.

What “40 to 60 years” means

That is a typical lifespan for the metal roofs we install, the same way 25–30 years is typical for architectural shingles. It is not a warranty term, and we do not publish a workmanship-warranty length on this site. Ask on the visit if you want the warranty that applies to your job in writing. We also do not claim a mill certification or a “preferred contractor” badge we have not earned in public.

Standing seam is the panel with the raised rib. Metal shingles are the other option we install, shaped more like a shingle field. Which one fits is about the house — pitch, the look of the street, what is being torn off — not a slogan. The comparison without a sales script is on metal versus shingle.

A metal replacement is still a replacement: usually 1–2 days, up to 3 if the roof is complex, permit pulled on a full replacement in Lexington or Richland County, deductible left alone if an insurance claim is involved. We will not give you a metal price from a photo.

Questions

How long does a metal roof last?
Metal roofs we install typically run 40–60 years. Architectural shingles typically run 25–30 years. Those are lifespans, not a published warranty.
Standing seam or metal shingles?
We install both. We will tell you which one the house needs after we see it.
Is metal always the better buy?
Not as a slogan. It typically lasts longer. It is not automatically the right roof, and we do not publish a price gap between metal and shingles. The written estimate is the comparison that counts.
Do you warranty the metal for 40 years?
No number like that is published here. Forty to sixty years is a typical lifespan, not a warranty term. The warranty that applies to a job belongs on the written estimate.
Are you certified by a metal manufacturer?
We do not publish a manufacturer certification. If that is a requirement for you, ask us directly and we will tell you where we stand.
