Chapin is on the north side of Lake Murray, in Lexington County. It is a longer drive from Pelion than Lexington or Gilbert, up the county toward the lake and I-26.
Chapin is the lake town on the north end of our Lexington County list. Lake Murray is why people know the name. I-26 is the highway corridor beside it. From Pelion you come north through the county, past the town of Lexington, and keep going. It is farther than Swansea or Gilbert. Houses near the lake sit in more open exposure than a house under the pines in Pelion.
